A mix of oil and watercolor
Dabbert Gallery’s 2009 "Summer Showcase" features nine artists, each with a distinctive vision.
• Yuqi Wang, an American Portrait Society Grand Prize winner, combines his passion for both classic European portraiture and the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
• Ben Stahl, whose work for 30 years was featured weekly in The Saturday Evening Post and was among the Post’s best-known artwork.
• Robert Baxter’s training and experience as an artist have extended from the western region of the United States to back east and even "across the pond."

"Street Performers" by Robert Baxter.
• Eric Boyer’s fascination with the human form can be seen in his wire mesh sculptures. His figurative work is representative of one narrow avenue of expression, which can include architectural installations, furnishings and two-dimensional work.
• Jinzhou Bai, during 19 years of teaching, exhibits, and commissions in the U.S., has won numerous awards nationwide.
• William Jerdon’s style follows in the tradition of American Realism, specifically Figurative Realism, with an emphasis on truth to nature.
• Florida artist Barbara Krupp paints abstract/impressionistic images on large canvases. She was recently featured at the Musée de Duncan in Paris.

"On Gossamer Wings" by Barbara Krupp.
• To Candace Knapp, sculptures are living entities. Each gesture expresses a feeling, and each shape has a personality.
• Beatrice del Perugia uses vibrant hues to create dreamy watercolors depicting mangrove forests and Siesta sunsets. "My offbeat way of seeing things makes me laugh," she said. "I hope it makes you wonder and smile."
"Summer Showcase" will be exhibited until Sept. 30. All featured artists’ work may be viewed at www.dabbertgallery.com. Dabbert Gallery is located at 76 S. Palm Ave.; 955-1315. (Above l.) "Street Performeers" by Robert Baxter; (above) "On Gossamer Wings" by Barbara Krupp.
