There is something electrifying under the marquee on the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus: a teacher keenly listening to a student perform on the cello.
Then comes a gentle correction from the instructor, followed by the disciple’s attempt to tame the note and master it.
Among the audience members watching are aficionados hungry for good music as well as the lay people drawn there by mere curiosity. But none leaves the scene unaffected by the process from which great music comes.
